Rep. Brennan Announces Windfall Elimination Provision, Government Pensions Offset Issue

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Sean P. Brennan (Parma) today announced an update on the implementation of the Federal Social Security Fairness Act. Specifically, that many spouses and/or surviving spouses of Social Security beneficiaries may need to apply for the benefit to which they are entitled due to the elimination of the federal Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP) and Government Pension Offset (GPO).

Rep. Brennan to Reintroduce Legislation Repealing, Refund HB 6 Corruption Fee to Ohioans

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Sean Patrick Brennan (Parma) today announced he will soon reintroduce House Bill (HB) 120 from the 135th General Assembly which would fully repeal and refund subsidies being paid by Ohioans to bail out two unprofitable Ohio Valley Electric Corporation (OVEC) coal-fired power plants – one of which is located in Indiana. The subsidies were established in HB 6 of the 133rd General Assembly.

Rep. Brennan Reintroducing Legislation Requiring Oil, Gas Well Owners Disclose Chemicals Used in Drilling Operations in State Parks

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Sean Patrick Brennan (D-Parma) today announced he will soon reintroduce House Bill (HB) 562 from the 135th General Assembly which would require horizontal oil and gas well owners that drill in state parks to disclose the chemical components of the materials used in their drilling operations and requires this information to be made public on the Division of Oil and Gas Resource Management’s website.

Rep. Brennan Celebrates Recognition of Ukrainian Independence Day in Ohio

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Sean Patrick Brennan (D-Parma) today celebrated the passage of House Bill (HB) 360  from the 135th General Assembly, which would designate August 24th as “Ukrainian Independence Day” in Ohio. This bill was a bipartisan collaboration with his former colleague State Rep. Bill Seitz (R-Cincinnati).

Rep. Brennan of Ohio House District 14 Sworn Into 136th General Assembly

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Sean Patrick Brennan (D-Parma) Monday was sworn into the 136th Ohio General Assembly. Rep. Brennan will be beginning his second term in the legislature, serving the people of Parma, Parma Heights, and portions of Cleveland’s Old Brooklyn, Brooklyn Centre and Clark-Fulton neighborhoods at the Ohio Statehouse.

Rep. Brennan Announces $6.7M in Disaster Relief to Cuyahoga County for Damages Related to August Tornados

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Sean Patrick Brennan (Parma) today announced that the Ohio Controlling Board approved $6.7M in state funds for Cuyahoga County through the State Disaster Relief Program (SDRP) to assist local governments in covering the cost of damages resulting from the tornadoes and severe storms on August 6, 2024.

Rep. Brennan Announces Grant Funding for Brownfield Remediation Projects in Cuyahoga County

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Sean Patrick Brennan (Parma) today announced that the Ohio Department of Development is awarding$18.8M in grant funding to Cuyahoga County for the cleanup and remediation throughout the county. The Brownfield Remediation Project focuses on supporting targeted solutions that impact quality of life, such as water infrastructure improvements, broadband expansion, brownfield redevelopment, and the demolition of blighted buildings.
