COLUMBUS — State Rep. Sean Patrick Brennan (Parma) Tuesday announced that he has been appointed ranking member of the House Public Insurance and Pensions Committee for the 136th General Assembly.

“It is an honor to have been selected to serve as ranking member of this extremely important committee. I look forward to working with my Democratic and Republican colleagues to do our part to protect Ohio’s workers should they get injured on the job or become unemployed and to look out for our public servants who sacrifice so much for their communities and deserve to retire with peace of mind,” said Rep. Brennan.

The work of the House Public Insurance and Pensions Committee is focused on overseeing the  Bureau of Worker’s Compensation, Ohio Industrial Commission, Ohio’s unemployment insurance program, as well as the state’s five public pension programs, including the State Teachers Retirement System (STRS OH), the Ohio School Employees Retirement System (OH SERS), the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS), the Ohio Police and Fire Pension Fund (OP&F), and the Ohio Highway Patrol Retirement System (OH HPRS).

Rep. Brennan is a second term member of the Ohio House of Representatives. He served on Parma City Council for 19 years and as a public middle and high school social studies teacher for 30 years before joining the Ohio General Assembly.
