COLUMBUS – State Representatives Tristan Rader (D-Lakewood) and Sean Patrick Brennan (Parma) today submitted a letter to Governor DeWine urging him to refrain from appealing the recent decision by Franklin County Common Pleas Judge Michael Holbrook. The court’s ruling mandates that Ohio reinstate its participation in the Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation (FPUC) program and secure the nearly $900M in federal relief funds owed to Ohioans.

COLUMBUS – State Reps. Sean Patrick Brennan (D-Parma) and Levi Dean (R-Xenia) today announced that they have introduced House Bill (HB) 66. HB 66 is identical to HB 120 from the 135th General Assembly, calling for a full repeal and refunding of subsidies being paid by Ohioans to bail out two unprofitable Ohio Valley Electric Corporation (OVEC) coal-fired power plants – one of which is located in Indiana. The subsidies were established in HB 6 of the 133rd General Assembly.

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Sean P. Brennan (Parma) today announced an update on the implementation of the Federal Social Security Fairness Act. Specifically, that many spouses and/or surviving spouses of Social Security beneficiaries may need to apply for the benefit to which they are entitled due to the elimination of the federal Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP) and Government Pension Offset (GPO).
