Rep. Haraz N. Ghanbari's Bill to Combat Organized Retail Crime Signed into Law

Ohio House Bill 272 championed by State Rep. Haraz N. Ghanbari (R-Perrysburg) was signed into law by the governor Wednesday. The legislation designed to combat organized retail crime, jointly sponsored by State Rep. Phil Plummer (R-Dayton), requires high-volume, third-party online sellers to disclose certain pieces of identifying information in order to protect consumers. Ghanbari attended the bill signing ceremony.

Ohio House Bill 272 championed by State Rep. Haraz N. Ghanbari (R-Perrysburg) passed the General Assembly Wednesday after a 33-0 vote in Senate. The legislation, jointly sponsored by State Rep. House Bill 531 introduced by State Rep. Haraz N. Ghanbari (R-Perrysburg) passed unanimously on the House floor Wednesday and now moves to the Senate for further consideration. Ghanbari, the primary sponsor of the legislation, noted the bipartisan bill allows a county prosecutor to partner with certain entities to provide legal services

Rep. Carfagna Looks to Empower Nurses for Mental Health Emergencies

COLUMBUS—State Representatives Rick Carfagna (R-Genoa Township) and Scott Ryan (R-Newark) recently introduced legislation that would add advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) with a psychiatric/mental health subspecialty to the list of authorized professionals who are able to carry out mental health holds.  The legislation, House Bill 111, was previously carried by Carfagna’s predecessor, former Rep. Margaret Ann Ruhl, during the 131st General Assembly.  With a 98-0 floor vote, it earned strong bipartisan support in the Ohio House but failed to pass out of the Ohio Senate before year end.

 
 

State Rep. Scott Lipps (R-Franklin) announces the Ohio Senate approved House Bill 136 earlier this week and it now heads to the governor’s desk. Lipps is the primary sponsor of the bill.

 
 
Rep. Anielski Reads at Independence Primary School As Part of "Right to Read" Week

INDEPENDENCE—State Representative Marlene Anielski (R-Walton Hills) participated in Independence Primary School’s annual Right to Read Week. She shared her love of books with a rapt audience of kindergarten students. Rep.
