COLUMBUS—The Ohio House of Representatives today honored Brutus Buckeye during the Ohio House session in celebration of his 50th anniversary as mascot of The Ohio State University. Unanimous Passage of Bill to Create the D.O.L.L.A.R. Deed is a Win for Homeowners and Lenders

Today the Ohio House unanimously passed legislation, sponsored by State Representatives Jonathan Dever (R-Madeira) and Robert McColley (R-Napoleon), creating the D.O.L.L.A.R. Deed program (Deed Over, Lender Leaseback, Agreed Refinance). House Bill 303 will provide homeowners the option to remain in their homes as a tenant instead of facing foreclosure.

Rep. Rezabek Applauds Passage of Bill Safeguarding Minors from Cough/Cold Medicine Abuse

COLUMBUS—State Representative Jeff Rezabek (R-Clayton) today applauded the House’s passage of legislation he sponsored that would prohibit a person younger than 18 from purchasing any product containing dextromethorphan, an ingredient commonly found in cough and cold medicines. The bill makes the violation of this prohibition a minor misdemeanor.

 
 
Rep. Terry Johnson Applauds House Passage of Bill Helping Veterans Receive Healthcare Benefits

COLUMBUS—During today’s session, the Ohio House of Representatives passed Senate Bill 10, legislation that requires the state’s Department of Medicaid to determine whether a person receiving medical assistance is eligible for federal military-related healthcare benefits. It then requires the department to notify that individual of his or her potential eligibility and assist them in reaching out to the appropriate entity to receive those benefits.
