Fowler Arthur Announces $5 Million Investment in Ashtabula County

COLUMBUS—State Rep. Sarah Fowler Arthur (R-Ashtabula) is pleased to announce that more than $5 million will be directed towards four transformative economic development projects in Ashtabula County through the Appalachian Community Grant Program.

Project details are as follows:

  • $276,187 to build two kayak launch points and create the Twin Bridges Water Trail located on the Scenic Waterway of Conneaut Creek;
  • $860,000 to create stone break walls to mitigate and prevent erosion along the Western shoreline at Geneva Township Park;
  • $2,621,152 to revitalize downtown Geneva and promote outdoor recreation; and
  • $1,642,695 to revitalize the City of Ashtabula and enhance historic downtown characteristics.  

“This transformative funding will enhance the experiences of all those that visit Ashtabula County,” said Fowler Arthur.

In total, over $52 million was awarded to economic development projects that will improve waterfronts, trails, parks, and historic downtown districts in Ohio's Appalachian region
