COLUMBUS —Minority Leader Allison Russo (D-Upper Arlington) today announced she will serve on the Ohio Redistricting Commission to redraw the state House and Senate legislative maps. 

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Allison Russo (D-Upper Arlington) announced that the state Controlling Board approved several major items this week.

Today, Rep. Allison Russo (D-Upper Arlington) voted in favor of Substitute House Bill (HB) 169 to appropriate $4.18 billion to support education, expand access to childcare and improve public health, among other investments in Ohio’s working people, families and communities amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The bill is funded through several federal COVID-19 relief packages, the majority of which comes from the American Rescue Plan Act backed by Democrats and signed into law by President Biden earlier this year.

COLUMBUS – Rep. Allison Russo (D-Upper Arlington) announced that the state Controlling Board approved more than $100 million in funding for infrastructure projects and programs to protect the health, safety and security of Ohioans, including $90 million for school building capital improvement projects to help districts  across the state with ongoing construction costs.

COLUMBUS — State Reps. Allison Russo (D-Upper Arlington) and Beth Liston (D-Dublin) today voted in opposition to House Bill (HB) 218, Republican-backed legislation that contains last-minute changes to prohibit schools, universities and employers from requiring students or employees to receive a COVID-19 vaccine. It would also bar public and private entities from requiring proof of COVID-19 vaccination for any reason. 

Rep. Allison Russo (D-Upper Arlington) today voted in opposition to two bills opponents say would make schools and communities less safe and fail to address gun violence in Ohio. House Bill (HB) 99 would allow school districts to arm teachers in the classroom without adequate training or safe storage requirements, while HB 227 would eliminate concealed weapon training and safety standards, including penalties for failing to notify police of a concealed weapon during a stop. 

COLUMBUS— State Reps. Janine Boyd (D-Cleveland Heights) and Allison Russo (D-Upper Arlington) today introduced House Bill (HB) 491, which would establish the Ohio Family and Medical Leave Insurance Program and provide economic stability to working families during such instances as medical emergencies, caring for sick loved ones, or welcoming a newborn into the family.  It would also provide an employee with paid bereavement leave for a stillbirth or the death of a child. Democrats previously introduced paid family leave in the 132nd and 133rd General Assemblies.

Rep. Allison Russo (D-Upper Arlington) announced today that the state Controlling Board approved several items of note this week, including the allocation of $35.6 million to purchase rapid COVID-19 testing kits and $8 million from the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARPA) to support local health departments and mitigate the spread of COVID-19.
