Rep. Russo selected Legislator of the Year by the Ohio Association of Area Agencies on Aging
COLUMBUS- Ohio House Minority Leader Allison Russo (D-Upper Arlington) today was presented with the Legislator of the Year award by the Ohio Association of Area Agencies on Aging for her work supporting older adults and caregivers across the state.
“It is my honor to be presented today as the Legislator of the Year by the great Ohio Association of Area Agencies on Aging organization,” said Leader Russo. “It’s vital that we continue to support older Ohioans, people with disabilities and the family members who care for them. That’s why pursuing more legislation that prioritizes community-based senior services, expanding age-friendly communities, affordable senior housing, paying our direct care workers a living wage, and family caregivers is necessary to ensure all Ohioans can thrive in their communities.”
House Democrats have fought for several pieces of legislation supporting older adults and caregivers including the Caregiver Expenses Tax Credit, Esther’s Law, and expanding the Homestead Tax Exemption.
