Leader Russo announces $4,900,000 in new capital funds for 24th House District
COLUMBUS – House Minority Leader Allison Russo (D-Upper Arlington) announced the passage of the capital budget, HB 687, by the Ohio House of Representatives yesterday. The capital budget appropriates resources to state owned infrastructure, colleges, universities, and school districts as well as other community projects. The capital budget is typically passed every 2 years with this year’s budget appropriating over $3.5 billion to counties across Ohio with $191 million being allocated to community projects.
“I am proud to support the capital budget and the funds it allocates to uplift infrastructure and community development projects within Ohio,” said Leader Russo. “I am delighted to see funds go to community projects that will have a real impact on people within my community.”
Leader Russo helped to secure $4,900,000 in funding for a number of community projects, including:
$450,000 for City of Upper Arlington Community Center
$450,000 for the Hamilton-Clover Groff Trail in Hilliard
$1,500,000 for Franklin County for the Girl Scouts of Ohio’s Heartland Council’s Dream Big Transformational STEM Initiative in Brown Township
$2,500,000 for Gracehaven Multipurpose Building in Columbus
Additionally, Leader Russo also advocated for $21,625,000 in funding for a number of projects of significance in Franklin County.
The capital budget now moves to the Governor’s desk.
