COLUMBUS—The Ohio House of Representatives today passed House Bill 207, sponsored by State Representatives Mike Henne (R-Clayton) and Robert McColley (R-Napoleon). HB 207 addresses issues of workers’ compensation claims that involve motor vehicle accidents caused by a third party.

COLUMBUS—During today’s session, the Ohio House of Representatives approved legislation that increases the age for which persons are eligible to receive foster care and adoption assistance, as well as addresses issues associated with caring for the more than 67,000 juvenile and elderly Ohioans subject to guardianship in the state.

COLUMBUS—State Representative Jeff Rezabek (R-Clayton) today applauded the House’s passage of legislation he sponsored that would prohibit a person younger than 18 from purchasing any product containing dextromethorphan, an ingredient commonly found in cough and cold medicines. The bill makes the violation of this prohibition a minor misdemeanor.

COLUMBUS—During today’s session, the Ohio House of Representatives passed Senate Bill 10, legislation that requires the state’s Department of Medicaid to determine whether a person receiving medical assistance is eligible for federal military-related healthcare benefits. It then requires the department to notify that individual of his or her potential eligibility and assist them in reaching out to the appropriate entity to receive those benefits.

COLUMBUS—A measure urging the federal government to restore funding at the Piketon-based American Centrifuge Plant received its first hearing in the Ohio House Energy and Natural Resources Committee today.

COLUMBUS—State Representative Kyle Koehler (R-Springfield) today met with fourth grade students from Kenwood Elementary at the Ohio Statehouse in Columbus.

COLUMBUS—State Representative Terry Johnson (R-McDermott) was recently honored by the Ohio Alliance of Recovery Providers (OARP) as one of the 2015 Legislators of the Year. Rep. Johnson was joined in this recognition by Rep. Denise Driehaus (D-Cincinnati) and Senator Dave Burke (R-Marysville).
COLUMBUS—State Representative Kyle Koehler (R-Springfield) has introduced legislation that will provide greater access to the College Credit Plus Program for home-educated students.

State Representative Mark Romanchuk (R-Ontario) today received the “Elected Official Advocacy Award” from the Ohio Association of Area Agencies on Aging.
