COLUMBUS- State Rep. Bill Roemer (R-Richfield) met with Kelly Falcone-Hall, Western Reserve Historical Society President & CEO, to discuss the $500,000 awarded to the Cranz Farm Inn through Substitute House Bill 2, in conjunction with State Senator Roegner, the state's two-year construction budget for capital projects across Ohio.

Located within Cuyahoga Valley National Park, the Western Reserve Historical Society will use the funds to renovate the historic Cranz Farm Inn and Event Center, built in 1867 by Edward Cranz. The restored space will allow the historic home to accommodate overnight guests.

“The Western Reserve Historical Society will restore the house in a way that more community members and visitors can enjoy,” said Roemer. “Allowing people to stay at the Cranz Farm Inn creates a unique opportunity to stay in Cuyahoga Valley National Park, creating countless memories for guests to reminisce about for years to come.”

"Western Reserve Historical Society (WRHS) genuinely appreciates Representative Bill Roemer's continuing support and partnership on the Cranz Farm Inn project,” said Falcone-Hall. “When complete, Cranz Farm in Bath Township will be a unique, historical venue for overnight stays and events.  This project truly exemplifies Representative Roemer's deep commitment to promoting tourism and cultural experiences in Akron, Summit County, and the State of Ohio."

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine signed the legislation on June 28, creating additional avenues for historic spaces, like the Cranz Farm Inn, to be preserved.
