COLUMBUS– State Rep. Upchurch (D-Cleveland) today issued a statement after the Supreme Court’s conservative majority struck down Roe v. Wade, which established the right to access safe and legal abortion care in the United States.

COLUMBUS – State Representative Terrence Upchurch (D-Cleveland) announced the passage of the capital budget, House Bill (HB) 687, by the Ohio House of Representatives. 

COLUMBUS—State Reps. Casey Weinstein (D-Hudson) and Terrence Upchurch (D-Cleveland) filed bill language today to formally introduce the initiated statute sponsored by the Coalition to Regulate Marijuana Like Alcohol, which seeks to legalize recreational adult-use cannabis in Ohio. 

State Reps. Casey Weinstein (D-Hudson) and Terrence Upchurch (D-Cleveland) introduced legislation that would legalize the recreational use of marijuana in Ohio. The bill will have four major components: Decriminalization, Marijuana Excise Tax, Commerce and Licensing, and Medical Marijuana.

COLUMBUS– State Reps. Upchurch (D-Cleveland) and Willis Blackshear (D- Dayton) today announced the Ohio House passage of House Bill (HB) 137, which would designate March 29 as “Ohio Tuskegee Airmen Day” to honor the legacy and history of the service members that served as Tuskegee Airmen during World War II. 

House Democratic lawmakers today unveiled a package of commonsense gun safety measures they say will work to curb gun violence and save lives in Ohio. The call comes amid a spike in gun violence and Ohio’s new no duty to retreat bill taking effect earlier this month.

COLUMBUS- State Reps. Adam C. Miller (D-Columbus) and Terrence Upchurch (D-Cleveland) today announced the introduction of House Bill (HB) 182, legislation that would prohibit landlords from discriminating against tenants who utilize the federal government’s Housing Choice Voucher program.

State Reps. Michael Skindell (D-Lakewood) and Terrence Upchurch (D-Cleveland) today filed legislation for introduction to fund public transit in Ohio at $150 million annually, using a mix of State and Federal revenues.  The legislation seeks $100 million from Ohio’s General Revenue Fund and $50 million in revenue from Federal Highway dollars, known as Federal Flex dollars, annually over the two-year budget to go to transit.
