COLUMBUS – State Rep. Brennan (D-Parma) today announced that the state of Ohio is increasing its funding of annual peace officer continuing professional training (CPT) from 50% to 100% retroactive to January 1, 2023. Over the past two years, this program was operating on a pilot program basis, with a 50% salary reimbursement rate from the state for officers’ time spent in training up to 40 hours.

The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) held a briefing with FirstEnergy Wednesday regarding electric power outages resulting from severe weather and extensive storm damage. FirstEnergy reported that nearly 500,000 customers lost power and many remained without power for several days.
