COLUMBUS – State Rep. Dell’Aquila (D-Seven Hills) joined the Cuyahoga County House and Senate Delegation, as well as Rep. Daniel P. Troy (D-Willowick) in Lake County and Rep. Joe Miller (D-Amherst) in Lorain County to urgently request Governor DeWine to issue a proclamation declaring a state of emergency across Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, and Lorain Counties which were impacted by a severe weather system on Tuesday, August 6th, 2024.

A step in the right direction, this bill assists the families of those who gave the ultimate sacrifice but does not broaden property tax relief to more Ohioans, as Ohio House Democrats have suggested.

Richard Dell’Aquila (D-Seven Hills) today announced the state Controlling Board has approved funding for a new, evidence-based home visit pilot program designed to provide in-home support to new moms and families in the postpartum period. Dell’Aquila has introduced House Bill (HB) 274, jointly with Rep. Adam Mathews (R-Lebanon) – a bipartisan bill to alleviate these costs for long-term homeowners – but neither HB 274 nor any of the multiple homestead exemption bills have been passed into law to date.
