Republicans Power Grab a Continued Assault on People's Right to Hold Government Accountable

COLUMBUS - State Rep. Dell’Aquila (D-Seven Hills) released the following statement following the passage of the undemocratic House Bill (HB) 1 through the Ohio House of Representatives: 

“No Ohioan wants, nor should tolerate, foreign money or influence in our elections,” said Rep. Dell’Aquila. “However, HB 1 – hastily passed on an unexplained emergency vote that circumvented the committee process – will have a chilling effect on citizen-led ballot initiatives, further detracting from the ability of the public to hold their public officials accountable. Ohioans should expect fairness and transparency from their elected leaders, and today’s actions are a far cry from that.”
