Members of Ohio House Democratic Caucus Sign Letter to Urge Union Reinstatement

COLUMBUS — State Rep. Eric Synenberg (D-Beachwood) along with 28 other members of the Ohio House Democratic Caucus signed a letter urging Bellefaire JCB and Wingspan Care Group leadership to consider the reinstatement of SEIU District 1199 WV/KY/ OH as the bargaining representative for Bellefaire workers.

“Bellefaire JCB and its workers provide invaluable services to families across Northeast Ohio,” said Rep. Synenberg. “Their impact is immeasurable, and these dedicated professionals deserve fair and rightful representation. I urge both parties to return to the bargaining table and restore good-faith negotiations so this critical work can continue without disruption.”  

This letter comes after Bellefaire JCB looked to withdraw its union recognition of its employees’ and claim a religious exemption. The letter asks that Bellefaire JCB and Wingspan Care Group leadership consider the following: 

• Reinstate recognition of SEIU District 1199 WV/KY/OH as the bargaining representative for Bellefaire workers;
• Refrain from communications and actions that may interfere with workers’ rights under the National Labor Relations Act; and
• Resume good faith negotiations toward a fair contract.
