Eric Synenberg Biography
State Representative Eric Synenberg, born and raised in University Heights and Beachwood, is currently serving his first term representing the 21st House District, which includes all of Beachwood, Euclid, Lyndhurst, South Euclid, University Heights, and part of Cleveland.
During the course of his career, Representative Synenberg has worked in a wide variety of roles. As an attorney, Eric has worked in the private sector and served in the public sector as Deputy Counsel for State Treasurer Josh Mandel from 2011–2018. From 2018–2024, he served on the Beachwood City Council. On council, he served as Vice President and chaired key committees, including Economic Development, Finance, Legal & Personnel, and Safety. Eric is proud to continue a legacy of dedicated service to the state of Ohio as a third-generation elected official.
Prior to joining the legislature, Representative Synenberg was involved in numerous local organizations in the Cleveland area. This includes service to the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association, Coventry Village (Cleveland Heights) Special Improvement District, Jewish Family Service Association of Cleveland, and Northeast Ohio City Council Association.
Representative Synenberg is proud to have graduated from two of Ohio’s fine universities. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Miami University (OH) and his law degree from Cleveland State University. Eric also earned a Master of Law in Taxation from the University of Miami (FL), School of Law.
Focused on delivering meaningful results for Ohio’s residents, Representative Synenberg aims to work across party lines to address critical issues such as affordable housing, property tax reform, equitable school funding, workforce development, and support for working-class families. He is committed to building a more competitive, vibrant state where young residents are inspired to stay and build their futures. Eric resides in Beachwood with his wife and three sons.
