Representative Troy Announces $200,000 Campus Safety Grant to Lakeland Community College and $55,000 to Lake County Local Park Projects

COLUMBUS — State Representative Daniel Troy (D-Willowick) Monday announced that the Ohio Controlling Board has approved a $197,741 grant to Lakeland Community College as a part of the FY25-26 Campus Safety Grant Program. These funds will be used for physical security improvements such as security cameras, fencing, lighting, door locks, portable surveillance trailers, and more.

Rep. Troy of Ohio House District 23 Sworn Into the 136th General Assembly

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Daniel Troy (D-Willowick) was sworn into the 136th Ohio General Assembly on Monday. Rep. Troy will be beginning his 10th term in the legislature, serving the people of Eastlake, Mentor-on-the-Lake, Richmond Heights, Wickliffe, Willoughby, Willoughby Hills, Willowick, half of Mentor, the villages of Gates Mills, Lakeline, Mayfield, and Timberlake at the Ohio Statehouse.

Rep. Troy's Legislation Designating May Older Ohioans Month Signed into Law

COLUMBUS – State Representative Daniel Troy (D-Willowick) today was pleased to see his House Bill (HB) 173 designating May as Older Ohioans Month ceremonially signed into law Wednesday by Governor DeWine. Both the original and amended version of HB 173 unanimously passed the Ohio House of Representatives and Ohio Senate.

Reps. Troy, Oelslager's HJR 8 Extending the $2.5B State Capital Improvement Program Passes Ohio House

COLUMBUS – State Reps. Daniel Troy (D-Willowick) and Scott Oelslager (R-North Canton) this week thanked their colleagues in the Ohio House of Representatives for favorable passage of legislation they introduced November 12th. House Joint Resolution 8 (HJR) proposes a constitutional amendment to be voted upon on May 6, 2025 to continue the State Capital Improvement Program (SCIP), under the Ohio Public Works Commission, with the issuance of an additional $2.5B of general obligation bonds to fund local infrastructure capital improvements.

Rep. Troy Announces $488,540 Awarded for Brownfield Remediation and Cleanup

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Daniel Troy (D-Willowick) today announced $488,540 in a new round of grant funding for brownfield remediation and cleanup in his district. This funding builds on the more than $4.4M in brownfield remediation and development in Rep. Troy’s district that was announced last September. As the ranking member of the Ohio House Finance Subcommittee on Agriculture, Development, and Natural Resources, Rep. Troy strongly advocated for the addition of $500M in brownfield remediation and demolition funds to the current state operating budget, which had no appropriation for this purpose when it was introduced.
