COLUMBUS - State Rep. Daniel Troy (D-Willowick) today released the following statement regarding Issue 2’s passage by wide margins following the May 6th special election:

COLUMBUS – State Reps. Daniel P. Troy (D-Willowick) and Beryl Brown Piccolantonio (D-Gahanna) last Monday introduced House Bill (HB 197) to move Ohio’s presidential election-year primary elections to the same date as non-presidential year primaries — the first Tuesday after the first Monday in May. 

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Daniel Troy (D-Willowick) today announced that the Ohio Department of Public Safety has awarded $50,710 to Eastlake, $12,340 to Timberlake, and $10,920 to Gates Mills through the Body-Worn Camera Grant Program. These funds will be used to establish new body-worn camera programs for the Eastlake and Timberlake Police Departments and will provide continued funding for the Gates Mills Police Department’s existing program.

COLUMBUS – State Reps. Daniel P. Troy (D-Willowick) and Jamie Callender (R-Concord) Wednesday announced that the Ohio House unanimously voted to pass House Bill (HB) 27, legislation which would dedicate the Route 90 bridge over the Grand River in Perry Township in memory of Army Specialist Jacob A. Ashton. 

COLUMBUS- State Reps. Daniel Troy (D-Willowick) and Josh Williams (R-Sylvania Twp.) Monday introduced House Bill (HB) 178, which would require the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services to provide a supplemental benefit allotment to qualifying senior citizen households participating in the federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).

COLUMBUS - State Representative Daniel Troy (D-Willowick) today announced that the Ohio Controlling Board has approved $300,000 in funding for infrastructure upgrades at Lakeland Community College. The college will partner with Tec Inc. Engineering & Design, headquartered in Eastlake, to complete much-needed mechanical and electrical updates. 

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Daniel Troy (D-Willowick) Wednesday helped pass the bipartisan Ohio Transportation Budget (House Bill 54) through the Ohio House of Representatives. The budget’s appropriation of $11.5B is a significant investment into the future of Ohio jobs, connecting the workforce to the worksite, and the bill will improve roads, bridges, and transit systems across Ohio.

COLUMBUS — State Representatives Daniel Troy (D-Willowick) and Thomas Hall (R-Madison Twp.) today introduced House Bill (HB) 103 to update Ohio’s Homestead Tax Exemption program.

COLUMBUS — State Rep. Daniel Troy (D-Willowick) Wednesday announced the OneOhio Recovery Foundation awarded a $300,000 grant to Lake-Geauga Recovery Centers for addiction recovery housing. Lake-Geauga Recovery Centers is a non-profit agency that provides addiction treatment, support, and education to individuals, families, and communities throughout Lake and Geauga County.
