Rep. Troy Announces More Than $1M in Funding to In-District Community Providers to Prevent Opioid Usage, Overdose Deaths
COLUMBUS – State Rep. Daniel Troy (D-Willowick) today announced that three community-based providers in his district will receive funding totaling $1,071,316.95 and that the Lake County Addiction & Mental Health Services (ADAMHS) Board will receive an additional $179,205. The federal grant funding will support ongoing initiatives to combat opioid use disorder and prevent overdose fatalities.
“I am pleased that this funding was made available to help individuals that struggle with substance use. The recently announced statewide decline in overdose deaths is welcome news, and these dollars will build on that success,” said Rep. Troy.
The recipients include:
- Jordan Community Residential Center in Willoughby ($140,592.75)
- Signature Health in Willoughby ($649,390.95)
- SMART Recovery USA in Mentor ($281,333.25)
- The Lake County ADAMHS Board ($179,205.00)
The Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (OhioMHAS) received these grants through the federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) to aid local organizations providing prevention, harm reduction, treatment, and long-term recovery services for Ohioans facing opioid or stimulant use disorders.
