Reps. Sweeney, Miller's Bipartisan Legislation Prohibiting Police Ticket Quotas Heads to Governor's Desk

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Bride Rose Sweeney (D-Westlake) today announced the passage of Senate Bill (SB) 114, the Senate companion bill to her bipartisan House Bill (HB) 131, to prohibit ticket and arrest quotas for law enforcement. SB 114 passed the Ohio House by a vote of 91-0 and now heads to the governor’s desk for his signature.

Rep. Sweeney Announces an Additional $17.9M in Brownfield Remediation Awards for Cuyahoga County

COLUMBUS — State Rep. Bride Rose Sweeney (D-Westlake) today announced that Cuyahoga County has been awarded an additional $17.9M in funding through the Brownfield Remediation Program administered by the Ohio Department of Development. Brownfield funding helps clean up and redevelop hazardous brownfield sites, creating new economic and employment opportunities. As ranking member of the Ohio House Finance Committee, Rep. Sweeney helped secure $350M for the Ohio Brownfield Remediation Program in last year’s biennial state operating budget

Rep. Sweeney Announces $5M for Cycling, Pedestrian Infrastructure Improvements in Cuyahoga County

COLUMBUS — State Rep. Bride Rose Sweeney (D-Westlake) today announced that two projects in Cuyahoga County received nearly $5M in grants to reconfigure pedestrian and cycling infrastructure on the west side. The City of Lakewood will receive $2.94M for bike lanes and shared paths as part of the larger Bunts Road Rehabilitation Project and Cuyahoga County will receive $2M to add a pedestrian and bike greenway along the north side of Clifton Road between Lakewood and Rocky River.

Rep. Sweeney Announces $31M in State Funds for JumpStart Inc. to Support Technology Start-Ups in Northeast Ohio

COLUMBUS — State Rep. Bride Rose Sweeney (D-Westlake) today announced that the Controlling Board approved $31.1M for Cleveland’s JumpStart Inc. as part of the Department of Development’s Entrepreneurial Services Provider Program.
