COLUMBUS – House Democrats today held a press conference to introduce the People First agenda. House Minority Leader Allison Russo (D-Upper Arlington), Assistant Minority Leader Dontavious Jarrells (D-Columbus), Minority Whip Jessica Miranda (D-Forest Park), Assistant Minority Whip Tavia Galonski (D-Akron), Rep. Bride Rose Sweeney (D-Westlake) and OLBC President Terrance Upchurch (D-Cleveland) spoke at the press conference detailing the People First legislative priorities. 

State Reps. Bride Rose Sweeney (D-Westlake) and Jessica E. Miranda (D-Forest Park) gave sponsor testimony on their anti-corruption legislation, which would require dark money groups to identify their contributors and disclose their spending.

Chairman of the House Prescription Drug Addiction and Healthcare Reform Study Committee Robert Sprague (R-Findlay) today was joined by Vice Chairman of the study committee Ryan Smith (R-Bidwell) and other members of the House at a press conference to discuss a package of bills that addresses opioid addiction in Ohio.

The legislation was introduced by Senate President Keith Faber (R-Celina) in the Senate and it is similar to House Joint Resolution 7, which Rep. Huffman championed in the House.

State Representatives Mike Dovilla (R-Berea) and Matt Huffman (R-Lima) today announced that the Ohio House of Representatives passed legislation to enact various elections administration reforms aimed at good governance and simplifying the voting process.

State Representative Nan Baker (R-Westlake) today applauded the House passage of House Bill 107, which creates a $1 million pilot project to provide grants to certain businesses for employing high school students to career exploration internships.
