Ohio House Passes Legislation to Designate James A. Garfield Day

Columbus, Ohio – The Ohio House of Representatives yesterday unanimously passed House Bill 61, declaring November 19th as James A. Garfield Day, announced joint sponsors Representative Jamie Callender (R- Concord) and Representative Dan Troy (D- Willowick). This vote came after unanimous passage by the House State and Local Government Committee back in March. 

 
 
Bird, Hall Hold Press Conference on Ohio Homeowners Relief Act

COLUMBUS—Joint sponsors, State Reps. Adam Bird (R-New Richmond) and Thomas Hall (R- Madison Twp.) today held a press conference on the Ohio Homeowners Relief Act. 

 
 

COLUMBUS – The House Transportation Committee passed legislation sponsored by State Reps. Beth Lear (R-Galena) and Ron Ferguson (R-Wintersville) creating the Representative Kris Jordan Memorial Highway. Rep. Jordan died earlier this year while serving in the Ohio House.

Pavliga Pushes Innovative Solution to Improve Workforce, Mental Health Crisis

State Rep. Gail Pavliga (R-Portage County) is taking a groundbreaking step toward addressing the mental health crisis in Ohio. The representative has introduced legislation that offers an innovative solution to the shortage of mental health professionals in the state. Pavliga spoke to the bill during its first committee hearing this week.

LaRe, Swearingen Introduce Legislation to Prohibit Curfews  Imposed by Municipalities

COLUMBUS—State Reps. Jeff LaRe (R-Violet Twp.) and D.J. Swearingen (R-Huron) today introduced legislation that will prohibit municipalities from implementing curfews with certain exceptions. 

 
 

COLUMBUS – The Ohio House of Representatives today passed House Bill 51, legislation sponsored by State Representative Brian Lampton (R-Beavercreek) that would give county auditors the authority to provide tax relief to Ohio’s property owners with damaged or destroyed property.

 
 
LaRe, Swearingen Introduce Legislation to Prohibit Curfews Imposed by Municipalities

COLUMBUS—State Reps. Jeff LaRe (R-Violet Twp.) and D.J. Swearingen (R-Huron) today introduced legislation that will prohibit municipalities from implementing curfews with certain exceptions. 

 
 

The Ohio House Finance Committee today approved a new two-year state transportation budget that invests in Ohio’s infrastructure and public transit.

 
 

COLUMBUS – The Ohio House of Representatives passed House Bill 7 today, legislation sponsored by State Representatives Brian Stewart (R-Ashville) and Diane Grendell (R-Chesterland) that enacts several changes to Ohio’s probate and trust laws.
