COLUMBUS—State Representative Andrew Brenner (R-Powell) recently was awarded by Governor Kasich’s Council on People with Disabilities with their Legislator of the Year Award. The award is given to someone nominated by a member of the disabled community for his or her work on issues affecting those with disabilities.

COLUMBUS—State Representative Al Landis (R-Dover) this week presented a House resolution to Randy and Koral Clum who were named the 2017 Ohio Tree Farmers of the Year. 

COLUMBUS—The House Government Oversight Committee yesterday passed House Bill 51, the Second Amendment Preservation Act, announced joint sponsors State Rep. Mike Loychik (R-Bazetta) and State Rep. Jean Schmidt (R-Loveland).

COLUMBUS— The Ohio House of Representative today passed House Bill 201, legislation to protect consumer freedom when purchasing automobiles and other equipment, announced bill sponsor, State Rep. Brett Hillyer (R-Uhrichsville).

COLUMBUS –The Ohio House of Representatives today passed House Bill 214, which will promote free speech in public schools and protect Ohio educators, staff, and students, announced bill sponsor, State Rep. Adam Holmes (R-Nashport).

COLUMBUS—State Representative Bill Reineke (R-Tiffin) today joined Terra State Community College to announce a new scholarship for 2018 high school graduates, the Workforce Demand Scholarship.

A bipartisan group of legislators today announced plans to introduce legislation named after Ohio State student Reagan Tokes. The Reagan Tokes Act will make reforms to Ohio’s criminal justice system in order to address certain shortfalls that could have prevented the 21-year-old’s murder.

Ohio House Speaker Clifford A. Rosenberger (R-Clarksville) and Ohio Senate President Larry Obhof (R-Medina) today announced the creation of a working group to review and reform Ohio’s congressional redistricting process.

COLUMBUS – State Reps. Scott Wiggam (R-Wayne County) and D.J. Swearingen (R-Huron) recently introduced legislation that will require employers to use the E-Verify program, a free internet-based program to help employers verify work authorization of new hires.
