COLUMBUS – State Rep. Sean Patrick Brennan (D-Parma) today announced that the Controlling Board has approved the reappropriation of $1.5B for the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) to complete ongoing Safety, Emergency, and Preservation activities. The purpose of the reallocation is to guarantee and accelerate the completion of critical transportation projects. The funds from this announcement are crucial for reducing the number and severity of crashes on public roads, repairing damage from declared emergencies, and the preservation of roads and bridges that ODOT is responsible for.

Former Congressman Ronald Milton Mottl served as state senator, state representative, Parma councilman, Parma City School Board member, among other offices and untold accomplishments. While serving in the Ohio General Assembly, he championed the bill that led to the creation of the Ohio Lottery. As a result, many referred to him as the Father of the Ohio Lottery. Since its inception, the lottery has raised over $30 billion for public education in Ohio.

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Brennan (D-Parma) today announced that the state of Ohio is increasing its funding of annual peace officer continuing professional training (CPT) from 50% to 100% retroactive to January 1, 2023. Over the past two years, this program was operating on a pilot program basis, with a 50% salary reimbursement rate from the state for officers’ time spent in training up to 40 hours.
