State Representatives Mike Odioso (R-Green Twp) and Thomas Hall (R-Madison Twp) introduced House Bill 594 at the end of 2025. This legislation is designed to expand computer science education in every public high school and ensure all Ohio students graduate prepared for an AI-driven economy. The bill is a response to the critical workforce need identified by industry leaders throughout the state.  

COLUMBUS—State Representative Mike Odioso (R-Green Twp.) will provide remarks at the Ohio Computer Science & AI for All Advocacy Day, which will take place later this month at the Ohio Statehouse. The bill will amend the section of the Ohio Administrative Code 5123-1-03: Community Capital Assistance Funds – Acquisition of Housing to align with state-supported housing with modern best practices of inclusion, affordability, and community integration.

State Rep. Mike Odioso (R-Green Twp), along with State Rep. Crystal Lett (D-Columbus), introduced Connie’s Law, which strengthens economic independence and workforce participation among Ohioans with disabilities by modernizing eligibility for the Medicaid Buy-In for Workers with Disabilities Program and the Ohio Workability Program. Under Connie’s Law, individuals with disabilities who are employed will have more flexibility in how their income is evaluated when determining Medicaid eligibility. This legislation allows $20,000 of an individual’s income—earned, unearned, or a combination of both—to be disregarded, ensuring that workers with disabilities can stay in their careers and build financial stability without fear of losing critical health coverage.

Jarrells (D-Columbus) introduced House Bill 565, the Grand Jury Privacy and Protection Act, bipartisan legislation designed to safeguard the identities of Ohioans serving on grand juries and uphold the integrity of the judicial process.

State Representatives Gary Click (R-Vickery) and Mike Odioso (R-Green Twp.) recently provided sponsor testimony to the House Children and Human Services Committee in support of HB 484, the Workforce Investment Now (WIN) for Child Care Pilot Program. HB 484 seeks to increase the number of childcare workers, reduce childcare costs, and increase Ohio’s population-critical components of a vibrant economy.
