Kishman Sworn in to Serve Ohio's 50th House District

COLUMBUS – State Representative Matthew Kishman (R- Minerva) took the oath of office Monday for his first term as a member of the Ohio House of Representatives. He represents the 50th House District, which includes portions of Stark County.

“I am truly honored to advocate as a strong voice for the 50th House District,” said Kishman. “I believe I can not only help the people of Stark County, but all Ohioans. I look forward to getting to work on legislation to make Ohio a better place to live, work and raise a family.”

Kishman served as a Minerva City Councilmen for four years and is the director of operations for his family’s business, Kishman IGA Markets.  He served on the Minerva Village Parks Board, Sandy Creek Joint Fire District Board and Minerva Chamber Board of Directors. He also serves on the Government Relations Committee for the National Grocers Association and is an active member in the Minerva Rotary Club, Stark County Farm Bureau and the National Rifleman’s Association.

He is a life-long resident of Stark County, graduating from Minerva High School and earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Youngstown State University. He resides in Minerva with his two sons.

Kishman was sworn in during Monday’s session, which marked the beginning of the 136th General Assembly.
