COLUMBUS – State Rep. Humphrey (D-Columbus) today announced that she was recently voted as the vice chair of the Correctional Institution Inspection Committee (CIIC), underscoring her commitment to effective correctional oversight through the democratic process.

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Latyna M. Humphrey (D-Columbus) today issued a statement on the distressing developments unfolding at the Colonial Village Apartments where over 800 immigrants, many of whom are of Haitian descent, were found to be illegally housed in substandard and condemned units. 

COLUMBUS – State Reps. Latyna M. Humphrey (D-Columbus) and Adam Miller (D-Columbus) today urgently called for action in response to the disturbing conditions revealed in Ohio's juvenile detention centers by a collaborative investigation of journalists from The Cincinnati Enquirer, The Columbus Dispatch, Akron Beacon Journal, Canton Repository, and other newspapers. The eight-month investigation uncovered severe failures in Ohio's youth prison and juvenile detention centers, including a surge in riots and violent assaults, and a shortage of support and behavioral health staff.

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Latyna Humphrey today calls for immediate action following the alarming discovery at the Colonial Village Apartments off East Livingston Avenue in Columbus where authorities discovered more than 800 people residing within substandard conditions and condemned units. The city of Columbus confirmed that many people living in the apartments were from Haiti. The complex was previously declared a public nuisance in August 2021.

Humphrey (D-Columbus) this week announced that the Controlling Board has approved the release of $2M of remaining Coronavirus Emergency Supplemental Funding to provide Ohio’s domestic violence shelters, law enforcement agencies, and other non-profits with additional resources.

COLUMBUS- State Rep. Latyna M. Humphrey (D-Columbus) Monday announced the investment of $90 million to strengthen mental health and addiction crisis services across Ohio thanks to President Joe Biden’s American Rescue Plan Act. A total of 37 regional projects will receive funding through the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (MHAS).
