Latyna M. Humphrey Biography

Representative Latyna M. Humphrey proudly represents Ohio’s 2nd House District, bringing a wealth of experience and commitment to her role. A Columbus native, she earned an Associate of Arts from Columbus State Community College and sought a Bachelor’s of Science in Applied psychology from Franklin University before embarking on a career in public service. 

As a single mother and two-time published author, Representative Humphrey's advocacy work and speaking engagements at institutions like Columbia University and Ohio State University have earned her national recognition. Her legislative priorities include criminal justice reform, workforce development, housing, and childcare.

In her tenure, Representative Humphrey has emerged as a leading voice within the Democratic caucus, championing legislation that directly impacts her constituents. Collaborating with local officials and community partners, she organizes impactful events and secures funding for district initiatives. Not only is Representative Humphrey making legislative changes, but she is also actively involved in the community. She organizes numerous events, from resource fairs to panel discussions, collaborating with city officials, organizations, and national recording artists to bring valuable resources and events to the district.
