State Rep. Juanita Brent (D-Cleveland) joined Democrats in opposing a Republican resolution that would urge Congress not to pass HR 1, the For the People Act, federal pro-voter legislation that would protect the freedom to vote, prevent billionaires from buying influence in elections, and make sure voting options are equally accessible across all 50 states.

COLUMBUS— Today, Rep. Juanita O. Brent (D-Cleveland) applauded the House passage of Senate Bill (SB) 108 and SB 109. SB 108 would provide $125 million in grants to bars, restaurants and lodging businesses impacted by COVID-19, while SB 109 would provide $556.9 million in grants to businesses, child care providers, assistance programs, local fairs, and veterans homes which have been impacted by COVID-19. The funding for these bills comes from federal CARES Act funding.
