Ohio Israel Trade and Innovation Partnership Passes Committee with Bipartisan Support

COLUMBUS — State Rep. Eric Synenberg (D-Beachwood) today announced House Bill (HB) 188, to create the Ohio-Israel Trade and Innovation Partnership, passed out of the Ohio House Development Committee with bipartisan support.
“This bill represents a bipartisan initiative to expand business and academic partnerships between Ohio and Israel,” said Rep. Synenberg. “Our state has a long history of trade and collaboration with Israel, and this legislation builds on that foundation to deepen our partnership, enhance cooperation, and create new opportunities that ultimately will strengthen Ohio’s economy and workforce.”
HB 188, joint sponsored with Rep. Thomas Hall (R-Madison Twp.), will do the following:
- Create a seventeen-person commission who would represent various business and cultural interest groups to focus on exploring bilateral trade and collaborations;
- Foster business and academic exchanges; and
- Promote economic support and infrastructure investment between Ohio and Israel;
- Work to expand multilateral partnerships beyond Ohio and Israel regarding emerging technology and innovation opportunities, including the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Qatar.
