Rep. Rogers Celebrates $16M Expansion of Electric Vehicle Charging Stations Across Ohio

Elgin Rogers, Jr. News

COLUMBUS - State Rep. Elgin Rogers (D-Toledo) today applauds the recent announcement of 22 new electric vehicle (EV) charging stations to be built along Ohio’s interstates, state routes, and US routes thanks largely to the second round of federal funding from President Joe Biden’s National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Program.

“This is an important investment in our future. These EV charging stations not only provide a practical solution for EV drivers in need of additional charging options, but also sends a message that Ohio can be a leader in the EV space,” said Rep. Rogers.

The funds that helped make Ohio the first state in the nation to develop charging stations is thanks to support of U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown’s efforts on the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. The addition of these new stations moves Ohio closer to its goal of locating fast chargers every 50 miles throughout the state.

Electric vehicles will help us meet ambitious climate goals, while providing good-paying jobs and economic stimulus to the state.
