COLUMBUS – State Reps. Bride Rose Sweeney (D-Westlake) and Kevin Miller (R-Newark) today announced the passage of House Bill (HB) 131, their bipartisan legislation to prohibit ticket and arrest quotas for law enforcement. HB 131 passed the Ohio House by a vote of 91-0.

COLUMBUS — State Reps. Dani Isaacsohn (D-Cincinnati), Bride Rose Sweeney (D-Cleveland), and Phillip Robinson (D-Solon) today sent a letter to the Department of Education and Workforce Development requesting the immediate release of a long-overdue study concerning Disadvantaged Pupil Impact Aid (DPIA). Despite repeated requests for its release, this study, which was funded through the 135th General Assembly’s operating budget nearly two years ago, remains withheld from the public and state legislators.

Bride Rose Sweeney (D-Westlake) today voted “NO” on the Republican state operating budget, House Bill (HB) 96, which heedlessly cuts critical state funding while failing to meet the needs of everyday Ohioans. Rather than provide meaningful support to Ohio’s citizens, House Republicans chose to dismantle the constitutional and bipartisan fair school funding formula while dumping more taxpayer money into vouchers for charter non-public and private schools that benefit the wealthiest Ohioans.

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Bride Rose Sweeney (D-Westlake) announced this week the reintroduction of bipartisan legislation to prohibit ticket and arrest quotas, alongside her joint sponsor, Rep. Kevin Miller (R-Newark), a former State Highway Patrol Officer of 20 years. House Bill (HB) 131 defines a quota as a mandate of a certain number of arrests made or citations issued for any offense that a local or state police officer must meet in a specified time period.
