State Rep. Bill Roemer’s (R-Richfield) legislation recently passed within the Ohio House, which seeks to boost the state’s healthcare workforce and services. The emergency legislation, under House Bill 6, acts as a timely bill due to the ongoing issues surrounding the pandemic. Roemer, the joint sponsor of the bill, spoke to it on the House floor.

Ohio House Speaker Bob Cupp (R-Lima) appointed State Rep. Bill Roemer (R-Richfield) as Chair of the Finance Subcommittee on Health and Human Services for the 134th General Assembly. 

Gov. Mike DeWine recently signed into law House Bill 442, which will create flexibility for students to take the Certified Public Accountants’ (CPA) exam earlier, and ease a number of other occupational licensing requirements in Ohio. After the enactment of legislation in 2019 to require all licenses be regularly reviewed by the state Legislature, the review process culminated in a wide-ranging set of recommendations, which were codified after being amended into House Bill 442.

State Rep. Bill Roemer (R-Richfield) announced today that he will again decline employee benefits from the state of Ohio, worth over $16,000 of taxpayers’ funds. The package offered includes life, health, vision, dental insurance, health and dependent care spending accounts, as well as enrollment in the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS).  

State Rep. Bill Roemer (R–Richfield) voted to support Senate Bill 310, which passed out of both chambers of the General Assembly. The legislation is the two-year state construction budget that includes funding for a variety of initiatives across the state and aid for local projects throughout Stark and Summit Counties.

The Ohio House of Representatives worked on a bipartisan basis and passed House Bill 208, which would institute enhanced penalties for assaulting sports officials. The bill was sponsored by State Rep. Bill Roemer (R–Richfield), who says the time has come for meaningful action to be taken.
