Ohio House Speaker Bob Cupp (R-Lima) appointed State Rep. Bill Roemer (R-Richfield) as Chair of the Finance Subcommittee on Health and Human Services for the 134th General Assembly.

“The subject matter of finances is an issue I’m quite familiar with as it has been part of both my professional and Statehouse careers,” said Roemer. “This is such an important year for the operating budget as we are in the midst of a pandemic and I look forward to working with my colleagues on finding solutions to the budgetary items our state faces. I’m also appreciative to Speaker Cupp for recognizing the contributions I can bring to the discussions on these committees.”

Roemer will also serve on the following House committees:

  • Commerce and Labor
  • Finance
  • Financial Institutions
  • Ways and Means

Roemer believes his extensive experience in finance as a certified public accountant will be critical on his committees and for the upcoming operating budget year. He has a Bachelor of Science Degree in accounting from Case Western Reserve University, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude. The representative also earned a Master of Business Administration degree from the Weatherhead School of Management of Case Western Reserve University. He is a former instructor of finance at Myers University.

Additionally, Roemer previously served on the House Finance, Financial Institutions, and Ways and Means Committees during the 133rd General Assembly.
