Reps. Rader, Glassburn Introduce "Balcony Solar" Bill to Expand Affordable Energy in Ohio

COLUMBUS — State Reps. Tristan Rader (D–Lakewood) and Chris Glassburn (D–North Olmsted) today announced the introduction of legislation to formalize plug-in or  “balcony solar” systems in Ohio, a simple technology that allows residents to generate clean electricity using small solar panels that plug directly into a standard outlet.

Reps. Rader, Thomas Introduce Bipartisan Bill to Shield Ohio Ratepayers from Data Center-Driven Grid Costs

COLUMBUS — State Reps. Tristan Rader (D-Lakewood) and David Thomas (R-Jefferson) today announced bipartisan legislation to establish minimum statewide standards for electric service agreements with data center customers. The bill would ensure costs of new infrastructure and grid upgrades needed to serve these facilities are not shifted onto existing Ohio ratepayers.

Reps. Rader, Cockley Named Ohio Conservation Champions by Ohio Environmental Council Action Fund

COLUMBUS – State Reps. Tristan Rader (D-Lakewood) and Christine Cockley (D-Columbus) this week announced that the Ohio Environmental Council (OEC) Action Fund has named them its Ohio Conservation Champions. This award recognizes Rep. Raders’s leadership as the ranking member of the House Energy Committee and Rep. Cockley’s continued advocacy for community health within the Agriculture Committee.

Reps. Cockley, Rader Introduce Legislation to Prevent Profit from Sensitive Data

COLUMBUS — State Reps. Christine Cockley (D-Columbus) and Tristan Rader (D-Lakewood) today announced they will be introducing legislation which would prevent agencies, officials, and data brokers from selling or distributing sensitive personal data unless it is used for a legally defined permitted purpose.

Rep. Rader, Members of House Energy Committee Urge PUCO to Reject FirstEnergy Request to Weaken Power Reliability Standards

COLUMBUS — State Reps. Tristan Rader (D-Lakewood) and David Thomas (R-Jefferson), along with 17 members of the House Energy Committee, today sent a letter to the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) to prioritize Ohioans and reject FirstEnergy’s request to weaken the state’s reliability standards to allow for longer and more frequent power outages.
