Rep. Rader Sends Letter to Sens. Moreno, Husted Raising Concerns on Proposed Funding Cuts to Medicaid, Food Banks
COLUMBUS – State Rep. Tristan Rader (D-Lakewood) today sent a letter to U.S. Senators Bernie Moreno (R-Ohio) and Jon Husted (R-Ohio) where he voiced his concerns regarding the proposed federal budget cuts to Medicaid and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).
“This is not about Democrats or Republicans. These are Americans who will suffer—Democrats, Republicans, non-affiliated voters, Libertarians, and independents alike. Medicaid and SNAP provide essential services that millions depend on, and these cuts will have devastating, real-world consequences for Ohioans of all political affiliations,” said Rep. Rader in the letter. “The health and prosperity of Ohio depend on the support and advocacy of leaders like you. We trust that you will stand with us in protecting the well-being of all Ohioans.”
These cuts, coupled with provisions in Ohio's state budget, threaten the health and well-being of hundreds of thousands of our fellow citizens.
