Rep. Rader Announces $180,600 in TeachArtsOhio Grants Awarded to Six Cleveland Schools
COLUMBUS – State Rep. Tristan Rader (D-Lakewood) today announced that six Cleveland Metropolitan School District schools have been awarded a combined $180,600 through the TeachArtsOhio (TAO) program, which connects students with professional teaching artists for immersive arts education experiences.
“Every student deserves the chance to learn, create, and be inspired through the arts,” said Rep. Rader. “I’m thrilled that students right here in Cleveland will benefit from this investment we secured in the operating budget. The arts are about more than creativity, they build confidence, bridge cultures, and help students find their voice.”
The following schools were awarded funding:
- Almira Elementary School – $37.8K
- Joseph M. Gallagher Elementary School – $12.3K
- Lincoln-West School of Science & Health – $37.8K
- Lincoln-West School of Global Studies – $42K
- Natividad Pagan International Newcomers Academy – $38.5K
- Paul L. Dunbar Elementary School – $12.3K
The TAO program, supported through the Ohio Arts Council, provides schools with opportunities to collaborate with experienced teaching artists who specialize in engaging young learners. Residencies can range from short 10-day introductions to full-year immersive programs. By bringing professional artists into classrooms, TAO strengthens in-depth arts education without replacing licensed arts educators.
