Rep. Brennan Responds to the Death of Ronald Mottl, Sr.
COLUMBUS – State Rep. Brennan (D-Parma) today responds to the passing of Ronald Mottl, Senior. Former Congressman Ronald Milton Mottl served as state senator, state representative, Parma councilman, Parma City School Board member, among other offices and untold accomplishments. While serving in the Ohio General Assembly, he championed the bill that led to the creation of the Ohio Lottery. As a result, many referred to him as the Father of the Ohio Lottery. Since its inception, the lottery has raised over $30 billion for public education in Ohio.
“Mr. Mottl was a great friend and served as an excellent ‘role Mottl’ for me. His record of service to Parma, and all of northeast Ohio, is second to none and it was an honor to follow him as Parma Ward Two councilman, president of Parma City Council, and now state representative. He was a wealth of knowledge whenever I needed advice and will be deeply missed,” said Rep. Brennan.
Mottl was the beloved husband of Debbie Mottl (nee Budan); Dear father of Ron Mottl Jr., Ron Mickey Mottl (Karen) Ronda Mottl (Daniel Compton) and Amanda Mottl; Cherished grandfather of Alexis, Samantha, Mickey and Mickayla, and friend to many.
