Rep. Brennan Reaffirms Importance of Faith In Government Following Householder Guilty Verdict

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Sean Patrick Brennan (D-Parma) released the following statement today following the conviction of former Ohio House Speaker Larry Householder:

“Serving as a school teacher for three decades and an elected official for two decades, I have always felt that when you are in a position of public service, you have an obligation to serve with the utmost integrity. When those in positions of elected leadership betray the public trust, it is very disappointing to those of us who take our positions very seriously because of the fear that the public will lose faith in all of their leaders and in government, in general,” said Rep. Brennan. “I can say with confidence that most of us hold our oaths to be a sacred promise to those we represent. I urge Ohioans not to allow this egregious example to jade your view of most of those who represent you at the local, state, or federal levels of government.”

Ohio House Democrats plan to reintroduce the Ohio Anti-Corruption Act which would require dark money groups to identify their contributors and disclose their spending.
