COLUMBUS —  State Rep. Sean Patrick Brennan (D-Parma) Monday praised the Ohio Controlling Board’s approval of $212.3K in capital funding for Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C) to update and replace campus signage across 38 buildings, including facilities at the Western Campus, located in his House district.

“This is a smart, practical investment that directly benefits students and strengthens one of our region’s most important workforce and education partners,” said Rep. Brennan. “Tri-C’s Western Campus serves thousands of students in our community every year. Modern, clear, and accessible signage helps create a safer, more welcoming environment and supports student success.”

The investment will support signage upgrades at Tri-C’s East, West, Metro, and Westshore campuses, as well as the Transportation Innovation Center, improving wayfinding, accessibility, safety, and campus navigation for students, staff, and visitors.

Rep. Brennan emphasized the role Tri-C plays in workforce development, job training, and economic mobility throughout Northeast Ohio

“From skilled trades to healthcare and advanced manufacturing, Tri-C is preparing Ohio’s future workforce,” continued Rep. Brennan. “These improvements may seem small, but they make a meaningful difference in daily campus operations and the overall student experience.”

The signage upgrades will include replacements and updates across 38 buildings to ensure consistency, compliance with accessibility standards, and improved visibility throughout the college’s multi-campus system.

Rep. Brennan reaffirmed his commitment to advocating for public higher education investments that strengthen local communities and expand opportunity for students of all backgrounds.
