COLUMBUS – State Rep. Sean Patrick Brennan (D-Parma) today released the following statement on his committee assignments for the rest of the 135th General Assembly:
“It is truly an honor to serve the people of Ohio in the 135th General Assembly,” said Rep. Brennan. “I am humbled that Speaker Stephens and Leader Russo have faith in my abilities to serve on some of the most important committees of the Ohio General Assembly. My experience, having served as a schoolteacher for three decades and on Parma City Council for nearly two decades, has prepared me well to work for the people of Ohio and address the issues that are important to them.”
Rep. Brennan now serves on the following committees:
- Ranking Member, State and Local Government
- Primary and Secondary Education
- Public Pensions
- Ways and Means (Taxes)
- Public Utilities
- Joint Sunset Review
Committee meetings are crucial to the formation of laws. All bills typically have at least three hearings in committee to allow the sponsor(s), proponents, and opponents to offer testimony and voice opinions on potential changes to bills before they are considered on the House floor.
Committees are open to the public and held any time before or after House sessions. Weekly committee schedules are uploaded to the House website at www.ohiohouse.gov . Ohioans may also watch committees live by visiting www.ohiochannel.org.
