H2Ohio Enrollment Opens for Producers Living in Ashtabula and Geauga Counties
COLUMBUS-State Representative Sarah Fowler Arthur (R-Ashtabula) today announced that the H2Ohio program is now available to producers in Ashtabula and Geauga counties.
H2Ohio works with farmers to implement best management practices on their land to prevent harmful algal blooms and phosphorus runoff.
To sign up, farmers should contact their local Soil and Water Conservation District and provide up-to-date soil tests and information on planned crops and rotations, yield goals, and planned fertilizer applications. Enrollment in the program goes until May 6, and is on a first come, first served basis.
“We are blessed to have an abundance of water in Ohio,” said Fowler Arthur. “I encourage those in Ashtabula and Geauga counties to take part in the H2Ohio program if they are interested.”
