COLUMBUS — State Rep. Rachel Baker (D-Cincinnati) last week announced that $300K has been approved for the Evanston Five Point Urban Renewal Plan. The Department of Development awarded this funding through the Ohio Brownfield Remediation Program and Building Demolition and Site Revitalization Program.   

COLUMBUS – State Reps. Rachel Baker (D-Cincinnati) and Cindy Abrams (R-Harrison) this week announced the introduction of House Bill (HB) 676, bipartisan legislation that establishes Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care (PPEC) centers in Ohio.

COLUMBUS — State Reps. Jodi Whitted (D-Madeira) and Rachel Baker (D- Cincinnati) today announced a new bill that establishes a grant program for social work students. House Bill (HB) 675 would grant $20K to individual students who are completing their internships. While these internships are required for students to complete while pursuing their degrees, most of these internships are not paid or underpaid. HB 675 aims to give hard working students some financial relief.

COLUMBUS - State Rep. Rachel Baker (D-Cincinnati) today announced that the Controlling Board has approved $1.2M under the Department of Children & Youth with the aim of combating infant mortality. The funds will be used in partnership with the non-profit organization Cribs for Kids which will provide eligible parents education on the importance of and how to practice safe sleep with their infant. Cribs for Kids will also furnish parents a product to allow them to put their baby to sleep safely and assist with practice safe sleep.

COLUMBUS – As corporate bailout costs for failing coal plants in Ohio and Indiana are projected to climb to $500 million over the next six months, Ohio House Democrats today highlighted consumer protections in a pair of bills the Democrats say would reverse the economic damage of the corrupt passage of House Bill 6.
