Rep. Baker Announces $442K for Cincinnati Mental Health Facility
COLUMBUS - State Rep. Rachel B. Baker (D-Cincinnati) today announced that the Controlling Board approved the release of $442K in capital funds approved by House Bill 2 to support Talbert House in purchasing a site to build a mental health crisis stabilization facility in partnership with the Hamilton County Community Mental Health and Recovery Services Board (HCMHRSB).
“Creation of a central campus for crisis services in Hamilton County will be community-changing,” said Rep. Baker. “This unit will provide much needed resources to our community members experiencing mental health crises to make sure community members get the best evidence-based care at any time of day or night.”
The Talbert House facility will include:
- 16-bed, short term residential facility for individuals who are being discharged from Summit Behavioral Healthcare, other psychiatric hospitals, or crisis stabilization units.
- Behavioral health urgent care, residential crisis stabilization, outreach services, and short and intermediate-term crisis residential care.
