Rep. Munira Yasin Abdullahi Elected Vice Chair for Ohio Democratic Women's Legislative Caucus for 135th General Assembly
COLUMBUS– State Rep. Munira Yasin Abdullahi (D-Columbus) today announced that she was elected Vice Chair of the Ohio Democratic Women’s Legislative Caucus (ODWLC) for the 135th General Assembly.
“Women's issues are always at the forefront of my priorities, so I am grateful to serve as Vice Chair of this caucus by and for women,” said Rep. Munira. “I am looking forward to working with my fellow caucus members in continuing to address pressing women's issues, such as the gender pay gap, women's right to choose, maternal mortality rates, and more, as it impacts all women and particularly as it impacts women that face additional economical, racial, and health barriers.”

The Ohio Democratic Women’s Legislative Caucus membership consists of the women members of the Ohio Senate and the Ohio House of Representatives including Minority Leader Allison Russo, former ODWLC Policy chair, Assistant Minority Whip Tavia Galonski, Former Vice Chair and Senators Catherine Ingram and Paula Hicks-Hudson, who have successfully moved from the House to the Senate.
The mission of the Ohio Democratic Women's Legislative Caucus is to develop and pass policies and legislation that improve the lives of Ohio women and their families; to identify and support emerging women leaders by serving as mentors; to educate and empower women and increase women's involvement in public life and in the Ohio General Assembly.
