Rep. Munira Attends President Biden's Eid al-Fitr Celebration at the White House
COLUMBUS- State Rep. Munira Abdullahi (D-Columbus) attended President Biden’s Eid al-Fitr celebration at the White House. The dinner event celebrated the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, called Eid al-Fitr, with the sighting of the new crescent moon. Representative Munira joined other Muslim congressional and state legislators from across the country.
“I was honored to be a part of the White House’s Eid al-Fitr celebration along with so many other well accomplished and impressive Muslim elected officials from all over the country. This event characterized diversity and inclusions, characteristics of a future I want to ensure for all Ohioans,” said Rep. Munira. “Celebrating and recognizing this event that so many Muslim-Americans observe in the nation's capital with our nation’s leader was nothing short of humbling. I hope to expand the recognition of all the diverse holidays celebrated in our nation that make us great.”
Eid al-Fitr is the celebration at the end of Ramadan and concludes the Muslim holy month of fasting.
