Robb Blasdel Attends Joint Energy and Public Utility Committee Meeting
State Rep. Monica Robb Blasdel (R-Columbiana County) recently attended the Joint Energy and Public Utility Committee meeting in Pittsburgh with members of both the Ohio and Pennsylvania Legislatures.
“I was thankful to have the chance to have a robust discussion and gather insights on energy policy with members of the Legislature in Pennsylvania,” Robb Blasdel said. “We want to ensure more reliability on our energy grid, and I know this information will be beneficial for us as representatives and our residents in Ohio.”
The representative notes some of the discussion focused on grid reliability within the PJM footprint and how the policies of certain states like Illinois, NJ, and Maryland may negatively impact Ohio.
“With Ohio and Pennsylvania being two of the largest energy consumers and generators in the region, our voice matters and we will make sure it is heard,” Robb Blasdel added.
The representative also mentioned a long-term solution is ensuring affordable energy is available for Ohioans.
The next meeting with Pennsylvania will be held in Columbus in January of 2024.
