COLUMBUS, OH—State Rep. Monica Robb Blasdel (R-Columbiana) announced today that $335,000 in funding has been awarded through the Ohio BUILDS (Broadband, Utilities, and Infrastructure for Local Development Success) Water and Wastewater Infrastructure Grant Program for the Atwood Regional Water and Sewer District in Carroll County.

"These investments in our infrastructure will help ensure our communities are prepared to grow," said Robb Blasdel.  “As communities work to attract new businesses and residents, being able to provide quality services helps Carroll County stand out and become a destination.”

The funds from the Water and Wastewater Infrastructure Grant Program will be used to replace pump station #125. The existing pump station is more than 20 years old and currently serves seven residential properties and a local business. The new pump station will be able to service an additional 10 homes to accommodate for new residential properties being constructed in the area. The project also calls for a new generator plug, an auto-dialer for station failure, and high- and low-voltage electrical protection devices. The project will benefit 200 people.

The Water and Wastewater Infrastructure Grant Program provides grants to improve access to clean drinking water and wastewater infrastructure.  Since 2021, the Ohio BUILDS Water and Wastewater Infrastructure Grant Program has provided a total of nearly $620 million to support hundreds of local water projects in all of Ohio’s 88 counties.
