Ohio House Passes Resolution to Establish Nurses Week in Ohio

COLUMBUS—The Ohio House of Representatives Wednesday passed House Resolution 87, legislation to establish Nurses Week in the State of Ohio, announced State Representative Monica Robb Blasdel (R-Columbiana).

This legislation will specifically recognize the week of May 6-12, 2025 as Nurses and Health Professionals Week in the State of Ohio in honor of their invaluable contributions to the health and well-being of Ohioans, providing compassionate, high-quality care.

“From providing compassionate bedside care to advocating for patients and promoting their wellness, the dedication and expertise of nurses are truly invaluable. Thank you, nurses and healthcare professionals, for working tirelessly to keep Ohioans healthy and safe,” said Robb Blasdel.

According to the Ohio Board of Nursing, there are more than 300,000 licensed nurses and related health professionals in Ohio.
