Never Alone Act Passes General Assembly

COLUMBUS- The Ohio House of Representatives concurred with the Ohio Senate this week on the Never Alone Act, sponsored by State Representatives Melanie Miller (R-City of Ashland) and Beth Lear (R-Galena).

 

House Bill 236 passed with a unanimous vote of 89-0 in the Ohio House.  The legislation ensures every patient has access to an advocate to be with them in a hospital, nursing home, or other congregate care setting - especially during a health emergency.

Miller, Ashland County Delegation Tour Southern Border

COLUMBUS, OH – State Rep. Melanie Miller (R-Ashland) toured the southern U.S. border in Cochise County, Arizona this week alongside Ashland Mayor Matt Miller and incoming Ashland County Sheriff Kurt Schneider.

The Ashland County delegation met with Cochise County Sheriff Mark Dannels and local law enforcement to gain a firsthand understanding of how federal policy is affecting illegal immigration.

Miller Delivers Millions in Transformative Capital Funding

COLUMBUS—The Ohio House of Representatives yesterday passed Substitute House Bill 2, the state’s two-year construction budget for capital projects throughout the state, announced State Representative Melanie Miller (R-City of Ashland).  The bill will allocate more than $4.2 billion for capital projects, including $717 million in one-time project funding from the Strategic Community Investment Fund.

Miller Honors Ashland High School Boys Bowling Team with Resolution on House Floor for Being Named National Champions

COLUMBUS, OH – State Rep. Melanie Miller (R-City of Ashland) presented a resolution from the Ohio House Representatives to the Ashland High School Boys Bowling Team, during a recognition ceremony on the House floor. The representative invited the team to recognize their national championship win earlier this summer.
